Jimmy Rollins showed today what an MVP is. Great play by him to save the game and clinch the NL East again. He has saved so many runs this season for the Phils and came up big down the stretch. He won't win the MVP this season due to a rough stretch when he was on his bad ankle, but "The Double Play" was definitely an MVP play. Just shows that you can't pick an MVP based on stats, there is much more to it than that. No other SS makes that play. Definitely the best all around SS in the game. Here is a good article on The Double Play. www.philly.com/philly/blogs/attytood/J-Roll_Utley_and_Howard_will_walk_together_through_history.html

Rollins proved that you don't have to hit .350 or hit 50 homers and drive in 150 runs to win the MVP last year. Its all about who is the Most VALUABLE player to his team. Some certain Mets fans that are still crying that he won it last year, and that David Wright should ha won it...well he did put up some impressive numbers, but how valuable was he ? His team had a 8 game lead with 17 games left, what did he do to stop it? Albert Pujols..great year, but where did his team finish? The way those guys get the MVP is if you put up number like Howard did 2 seasons ago.Now with all the talk Howard is getting right now, I don't think he deserves it since he was horrible for the first 2 months of the season. If anyone on the Phillies should be considered, I would say Brad Lidge, without him we would not be the NL East champs right now 41 for 41 in save chances but since he is a relief pitcher, he will not even be considered for it. ESPN put up a stat that if the games where 6 innings long, the Mets would had been up by like 11 games, which would had been great for the Mets if this was the little league world series. Back to Rollins, he showed that with his bat coming up big in times you need him, and his glove as well, he truly is a MVP.

I think Howard will get it this year and deserves it. Yeah he had a horrible couple months but his past few have been amazing. Alot of people are talking about Manny with the Dodgers, but Howard's #s during that time are just as good, and he has had huge clutch hits. While D-Rod over in NY has been whiffing in just about every big spot. Pujols led his team out of contention awhile ago. Prince Fielder has been leading his team lately, but to a wild card. Think Howard is the best choice this year. Not a fan of giving the MVP to pitchers. But don't worry, carltonprescott.com will have their year end award winners sometime this week

Now that the Mets choked again, do the Brewers dare start CC on 3 days rest again for game #2 ?
